1. Paste the address of the page you want checked
Your home page is the usual starting point. Just the address is fine, you do not need the https:// part. To check another page later, run it again with that address.
2. Add your email and complete the security check
The security box keeps bots out. Your report link is emailed to you so it is not lost if you close the tab.
3. Wait about a minute
We fetch the page, run the checks, and ask Google for its speed data. A progress bar shows where it is up to. You can close the tab, the email still arrives.
4. Start at the action plan
The report opens with a score, but the useful part is the prioritised action plan near the bottom. Work down it from the top. Re-run the audit afterwards to watch the score move.
